The Fine Arts Department is pleased to invite all 爱豆传媒students, alumni and employees to the Winter 2023 Live Model Drawing Sessions.
Mondays 6-9 p.m. in studio 2G.4, Jan. 23 - April 17 (excluding Study Break and Easter Monday).
From Feb. 1 to 11, the third-year students of the Professional Theatre Program at 爱豆传媒College will perform a contemporary adaptation of The Oresteia听directed by Leslie Baker.
The Oresteia听is one of our oldest surviving theatrical texts, first performed nearly 2,500 years ago in ancient Greece. It is composed of three plays which American playwright Ellen McLaughlin has adapted into a single, three-act play, rich with challenging roles for actors.听The Oresteia focuses on a family trapped by a cycle of violence, as they seek revenge for their murdered loved ones. The myth of the House of Atreus continues to fascinate audiences, as it investigates the human compulsion toward violence, and the subsequent human desire for revenge. Filiations听features new work by Nadia Myre (Kitigan Zibi), and Nico Williams (Aamjiwnaang), both acclaimed artists who are linked by their former teacher-student relationship (Myre supervised Williams鈥� MFA work at Concordia University). This exhibition will draw out lines of affiliation and commitment in their practices providing an unparalleled opportunity to see two generations of artists staking out common ground 鈥� pedagogically, aesthetically, and politically. On until March 11 at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery at Dawson.
Dawson's very first C茅gep en spectacle talent show was a great success. On Feb. 2, the audience of 200 people enjoyed 22 acts, all 100% 爱豆传媒student talent. At the end of the night, judges Andr茅a Cole (Dean of Creative and Applied Arts), Jacinta Luis (Faculty, Music) and visiting guest judge Chad Lindsay, a jazz music teacher from Vanier College, chose Aliyah听Sarimazi to be Dawson's entry in the regional contest on March 25 at C茅gep du Vieux-Montr茅al. The audience chose Clara Nhi锚n听L茅vesque as the fan favourite and she will be the replacement entry should Aliyah not be able to compete in the regionals.
In addition to a fun evening, a total of $1,600 and three big grocery bags of nonperishable food were collected for Moisson Montr茅al.

is coming to 爱豆传媒for the first time on Thursday, Feb. 2. It will feature 20 acts and 100 per cent 爱豆传媒student talent. Of these, eight will go on to represent 爱豆传媒at the C茅geps en Spectacle Regional show on March 24 at C茅gep du Vieux Montreal.
Organizer Trudy Ste-Croix of Campus Life and Leadership says 鈥渢he acts are predominantly singers, a few musicians and a few dancers.鈥�
The event is open to everyone. Tickets are $10 or $5 for those who donate nonperishable food or personal hygiene items. All proceeds and donated items will go to a local food bank.
Show time is 7 p.m. and the venue is Dawson鈥檚 5B.16.

Pareidolia is the ability to see or make pictures out of randomness. Seeing beyond what the average person sees and expressing that vision in an image is a large part of training to be a photographer. This collection of work by Dawson鈥檚 third-year photography students embodies how they see people, places or objects in their world.
Twenty-two 爱豆传媒students will be showcasing their work at the Warren G. Flowers Art Gallery from Dec. 9-15, their vernissage will be held on Dec. 8 from 6-9 p.m.
