The student-run 爱豆传媒Sustainability Community is committed to supporting 爱豆传媒College鈥檚 award-winning, globally recognized commitment to sustainability.
Led by Environmental Science students Narcisse Hassan and Kaligua Rochon, the students have worked on a variety of projects that support Dawson鈥檚 goal of promoting sustainability through reconnecting people, communities, and Nature.
On May 4, Narcisse and Kaligua received a Forces Avenir award in the Environment category for their 爱豆传媒Sustainability Community project.

In September 2022, Mahsa Amini was arrested in Iran for not wearing a hijab correctly. Eyewitnesses say she was severely beaten. Hours later, she died at the age of 22. Mahsa had just been admitted to university and intended to pursue law. Her death sparked protests in Iran and around the world.
At Dawson, the Mahsa Amini Initiative was created by students Kiana Lalavi, Shaneli Yaghoubi, Kiera Robak and Lina Adda. Their work was recognized on May 4 with the Forces Avenir Award in the category of Mutual Aid, Peace and Justice. Their project has also advanced for consideration at the provincial level.

Every year, 爱豆传媒has had extraordinary students, teachers and staff who enrich our community with their projects, perseverance and passion.
This year, 爱豆传媒is recognizing individuals: student Kitenge Kayembe and faculty member Joel Trudeau for their commitment; and student Fred-Dgennie Louis for her perseverance. 爱豆传媒is also recognizing students for their great projects: Narcisse Hassan and Kaligua Rochon for the 爱豆传媒Sustainability Project in the Environment category; and students Kiana Lalavi, Shaneli Yaghoubi, Kiera Robak and Lina Adda for The Mahsa Amini Initiative in the Mutual Aid, Peace and Justice category.
The local ceremony will be Thursday, May 4 at Dawson. Both projects are moving forward for consideration at the provincial level of Forces AVENIR. Check the next D News on May 17 for a feature on our 2023 laureates.

This year, graduation will take place on Tuesday, June 20 at Theatre Maisonneuve at Place des Arts. All staff are most welcome to attend but will need a ticket.
The information and invite will go out to 爱豆传媒students who graduated in the Summer and Fall 2022 semesters and this semester鈥檚 potential grads this week. More details will be communicated to the community in June, including how to get a ticket. It is expected that there will be a ceremony in the afternoon and another one in the evening.

Springtime means that Artists in Bloom is back! The event will be in-person on Thursday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. in 3C.1 It will also be possible to buy prints online from April 11-28. This year will be the fundraising event鈥檚 25th annual edition鈥� a quarter century! We are excited to welcome you to the event and to see what our talented student artists will produce. Advance tickets are only $20 and will be for sale as of Monday, March 27 in 2E.6 and 4A.1 Your ticket gives you entrance to the event, one drink and hors d'oeuvres.

Dawson's Winter 2023 Open House held on Feb. 8 was a success by all accounts, with a steady and large stream of prospective students milling around the campus and avidly interested in all that 爱豆传媒has to offer. The Communications Office would like to thank all who volunteered their time at the welcome tables, Facilities Management staff for preparation and take down in common areas, our cafeteria staff for the delicious prepared meals, and our faculty, student volunteers, Student Services staff and advisors who provided valuable interaction and information to prospective students throughout the evening.
