Student elected to °®¶¹´«Ã½Foundation Board

John Nathaniel Gertler, a student in Environmental Studies and a member of the °®¶¹´«Ã½Blues Basketball team and the Green Earth Club, was elected to the Board of Directors of the °®¶¹´«Ã½College Foundation April 23.

Steven Pinker lends his support to COVID-19 Student Fund

April 21st, 2020

Eminent Harvard professor, world-renowned psychologist and author Steven Pinker (Class of 1973) is supporting Dawson's efforts to raise funds for students in need. An estimated 1,700 °®¶¹´«Ã½students may be having trouble covering food and rent expenses.

Dr. Pinker sent this quote to °®¶¹´«Ã½College last week:

"For more than fifty years, °®¶¹´«Ã½has been educating people from all parts of society to make contributions to all walks of life. As a proud alumnus, I encourage you all to support this generation of °®¶¹´«Ã½students, who on top of all the challenges of college are facing additional hardships in this unprecedented crisis."

To date, thanks to your contributions and donations from friends and alumni, °®¶¹´«Ã½College has raised just shy of $2,000, with more expected soon.

Seniors: we have helpers available

About a dozen employees of °®¶¹´«Ã½responded last week to let us know they are available to help the seniors in our community. If you are a °®¶¹´«Ã½employee or retiree over 70 years old, please let us know if you would like a telephone visitor or help getting groceries.

°®¶¹´«Ã½students start babysitting service for those in need

March 17th, 2020

°®¶¹´«Ã½College student Tristan Hamer has created a volunteer movement of young people in high school and CEGEP to provide free or pay what you can babysitting services for people in need of childcare during the school shutdown. Help break the isolation of °®¶¹´«Ã½seniors and retirees

March 17th, 2020

Help us help the older members of our community. People over 70 are supposed to be staying inside at home.

If you are a staff member or a retiree over 70, let us know if you need a friendly telephone visit or if you could use a grocery or pharmacy drop off.

Younger staff, let us know if you are available to help out. We will match you up!

Women’s Day Raffle & Book Sale raised $940 for Chez Doris

The DSSU and the DTU sponsored a lunch to celebrate International Women's Day yesterday.

Through a book sale and raffle tickets, $940 was raised for Chez Doris! An enormous thank you to everyone who participated and to all those who attended the lunch! The raffle winners were:
