SPACE students attend NASA workshop at Dawson

The first workshop on , took place at °®¶¹´«Ã½College from Jan. 9 to 11. The workshop, the only NASA sanctioned event held outside of the United States, was co-convened by Dawson’s Richard Soare (faculty, Geography) and Jim Garvin, formerly NASA’s Chief Mars Scientist and currently the Principal Investigator of the DAVINCI Mission to Venus.

Discover 12 projects funded by Foundation

A dozen projects proposed by °®¶¹´«Ã½students, faculty and staff have been approved for funding through the °®¶¹´«Ã½Foundation’s new Student Academic Enrichment Fund.

A website page showcases the projects and allows others to invest in a particular project through a donate button.

The Student Academic Enrichment Fund is supported by students each semester and is meant to be a source of funds for projects that demonstrate a clear benefit for °®¶¹´«Ã½students and represent an activity that goes over and above core competencies for completion of a program. The selection committee, including representatives from the °®¶¹´«Ã½Student Union, Academics and Student Services, meets twice a year to review and approve project proposals.

The next round of project applications will open later this semester and will be announced in D News and the Omnivox student news feed.

Model UN students attended CCMUN & SSUNS

Our DCMUN (°®¶¹´«Ã½College Model United Nations) executive team (Aidan Byrne, Nica Calandriello, Sanjana Deb, Sydney Levitt, Mathis Paquin, and Bryan Vu) prepared a rigorous fall training schedule for new and returning delegates, culminating in an all-day United Nations General Assembly simulation. DCMUN welcomed the return of in-person conferences, with delegates attending CCMUN (Champlain College) and SSUNS (McGill University) where their diplomacy and research skills were commended. Our delegates look forward to competing in the winter conference season, with travel to national and international conferences planned.
