It's official! AASHE announced °®¶¹´«Ã½College's GOLD rating for leadership in sustainability on their ÌýCongratulations °®¶¹´«Ã½community!

We have been collecting reactions by video and text to the news in preparation for this week's announcement. We will be proudly sharing these thoughts from °®¶¹´«Ã½employees, government leaders and people active in environmental issues with the media this week.

In the New Year, we will be celebrating this as best we can during the pandemic and we will certainly share the videos and reactions with our community at that time.ÌýToday, you, the members of our °®¶¹´«Ã½community, get to know the good news first!Ìý

Howlett family doubles Nursing award recipients during pandemic year

The Howlett family thought that Nursing students needed extra encouragement in the context of the pandemic. This semester, four future nurses from °®¶¹´«Ã½College were honoured and encouraged by receiving the Anne-Marie Howlett Memorial Award.

The Confinement Diaries of AEC in Commercial Photography grad

Carlos Viani (Class of 2009,ÌýAEC in Commercial Photography) spent a few months during the pandemic capturing ordinary people living through extraordinary times in St-Henri.

Gabriel Tordjman’s book published

Gabriel Tordjman’s book was published this summer. The book is entitled: Darwin’s Tea Party; Biological Knowledge, Evolution, Genetics and Human Nature.

The book by the °®¶¹´«Ã½College Humanities teacher examines how biological knowledge has transformed the planet and reshaped humanity. Using the concept of biological knowledge, the author explores key persons, places, ideas and events that have shaped the world. He shows that while the development of biological knowledge has opened vast new vistas in our understanding of the living world and promises material abundance for some; refracted through the distorting lens of ideology, it has also contributed to great inequality and oppression.


North-South alumni mobilize support for Nicaraguan community

Six alumni of the North-South Studies Profile in Social Science moved into action in early November when they heard that Tuapi, Nicaragua was in the line of Hurricane Eta.

Two fundraising professionals join Foundation Board

December 1st, 2020

Fundraising consultant Elaine Lalonde (mother of North-South Studies alumna) and Claudia Mastrocola (Class of 2013, Community, Recreation and Leadership Training) joined the Board of Directors of the °®¶¹´«Ã½College Foundation at the Nov. 23 meeting.

The Foundation has bolstered its in-house fundraising expertise by welcoming these two new board members.

Elaine brings over 30 years of experience in fundraising to the Foundation. After several fundraising roles in the nonprofit sector, she is now a Senior Consultant with Global Philanthropic Canada Inc.

Claudia has seven years of experience managing fundraising events. She works as an event manager with the Italian-Canadian Community Foundation.


Governor General’s Medal recipient rowing her way to the top

December 1st, 2020

Catherine Chénier-Gagnon returned to °®¶¹´«Ã½College on Nov. 24 to receive the Governor General’s Collegiate Bronze Medal. Academic Dean Diane Gauvin presented the medal to Catherine at an intimate and socially distanced ceremony witnessed by her parents and a few teachers.
