Winter Wellness Series launches Feb. 27

The Peace and Sustainability Winter Wellness Series will launch on Tuesday, Feb. 27 with a Living Campus biophilic tour and a hands-on indoor gardening workshop. All participants will receive a house plant!

The plan is to offer a wellness workshop/event each month of the semester.

To participate in the Feb. 27 workshop, which will take place from 12 PM to 1 PM, you must register.


Graduation date is June 25

Exceptionally this year, ýgraduation ceremonies will be held after Saint Jean on Tuesday, June 25. The later date is because the grade deadline is exceptionally later this semester. Time is required to confirm students have in fact graduated.

The good news is that ýhas secured the 2,996-seat Salle Wilfred Pelletier at Place des Arts so there will be enough space to host two ceremonies instead of three.

Don’t miss Leopoldstadt: on now through Feb. 17

Sir Tom Stoppard’s play Leopoldstadt had its Canadian premiere at the ýCollege Theatre on Feb. 7. Directed by Matt Holland, the play features the 2024 graduating class of Dawson’s Professional Theatre program. Shows are happening on Feb. 8-9-10 and Feb. 15-16-17.

50th anniversary reunion and celebration of New School April 13

Dawson’s “novel experiment” New School is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. That is what The Gazette called New School in an article published in April 1973.

Back then, New School was created to engage students in their own learning and to build communities so that students would not get lost in a big institution.

Free Video Game Playtesting Event on Feb. 23

The Independent Video Game Design program is presenting a new edition of its bimonthly indie game playtesting event in room 3C.1 of ýCollege on Friday, Feb. 23 from 6 PM to 9 PM.

The Playtest @ IVGD event will showcase over a dozen new independent video games created by local developers including current ýstudents, graduates, IVGD faculty, and several Montreal-based indie studios.

Come celebrate the emerging talent in Montreal's continually growing game development scene by trying out the games, chatting with developers and enjoying a few snacks.

Social Science Week is Feb. 12-15

Beloved ýfundraiser Artists in Bloom will be April 18

Artists in Bloom will be back for the 26th edition on the evening of Thursday, April 18!

The beloved ýfundraiser invites those who appreciate art and those who love to support young people to come and enjoy appetizers and drinks while watching student artists create works of art live. Later in the evening, the art works are auctioned off. In addition, a curated selection of art prints by student artists will be available for sale.

This year, all proceeds from ticket sales, the art auction and art print sales will benefit ýAthletics, providing some essential funding to allow student athletes to travel to away games.


ýis presenting the Canadian premiere of Leopoldstadt

Sir Tom Stoppard’s play Leopoldstadt will have its Canadian premiere at the ýCollege Theatre on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Directed by Matt Holland, the play features the 2024 graduating class of Dawson’s Professional Theatre program.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students because Sir Tom Stoppard is a renowned, award-winning British playwright with a 60-year career in theatre,” said Professional Theatre faculty member Leah Esau. “He is best known for his screenplay Shakespeare in Love (1998), as well as his plays Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and Travesties.”
