Final edition of ýHomebody

This last issue of D News for April means it is the last edition of ýHomebody, an initiative of Dawson's Physical Education Department to help keep the ýcommunity physically and mentally healthy.

CRLT student Kathleen Collins awarded Lieutenant Governor Youth Medal

“A perfect volunteer” was a key phrase used in the nomination of Kathleen Collins for the Lieutenant Governor Youth Medal, awarded by Quebec’s Lieutenant Governor to students who “demonstrate a sustained voluntary action at the community and social levels.”

Sustainable Happiness Workshops

Introductory online workshops on Sustainable Happiness for managers, support staff and professionals are being offered in May by Dawson’s trained Sustainable Happiness facilitators. Participants will review what contributes to well-being through the filter of sustainability principles. With short theory bursts and video presentations, participants spend time in each session on activities that foster reflection and comparisons to their personal and professional life.

R.I.P. Roy Hartling and Bill Reid

We regret to inform you of the deaths of two colleagues:

Roy Hartling (Photography), who is pictured, passed away April 24. Roy had served as a teacher at ýfrom October 1982 until his retirement in June 2018.

William (Bill) Reid (English) passed away Jan. 16. Bill had taught at ýsince January 1992.
