Protect yourself and others

You can reduce exposure and the transmission of colds and flus by following these health precautions:

  • Washing your hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoiding contact with people who are sick
  • Covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze
  • Staying home if you are sick

If you are coughing frequently and you have visited the Chinese cities known to have cases, or if you are in close contact with people who have visited those cities recently, you should consult a doctor in a hospital Emergency Department to be tested for the Coronavirus.
