Solar-Powered Radio Station

January 22nd - May 10th, 2019

Two classes of °®¶¹´«Ã½Electronics Engineering students, along with their counterparts in a school in Tres Marias, Morelos, Mexico, will help design and build components for a community’s first solar-powered internet radio station housed in a traditional adobe brick house. This off-electrical grid house will also collect rooftop water to create a pond micro-habitat for indigenous species and help irrigate the vegetable crops. The students will design a system that can generate, store and release electrical energy to power radio show productions for the community. The first broadcast from the building will be to the °®¶¹´«Ã½students in May, 2019.
